Why it costs nothing right now
Two honest reasons. The first is that the tool is new and I would rather have people using it and telling me what is broken than a small number of people paying for something half-finished. The second is that the guides on this site carry advertising, which covers the hosting while the free plan is free.
What that does not mean: your data is not the product. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used to train anything. The ads are on the articles, not on your dashboard, and the two sides of the site do not talk to each other.
Your data
- Export whenever you like. Settings → Backup gives you your whole workspace as one file.
- Delete whenever you like. One click removes the account and everything in it, for good.
- We never post anywhere as you. The radar reads public pages; anything that gets published, you publish.
- WordPress changes always save a revision first, so nothing we do to your site is one-way.
Is “free” going to turn into a bill?
Not on the free plan you signed up for. If paid tiers arrive they will be for usage that costs money to serve — bigger sites, teams, scheduled jobs. A one-person site doing what it does today stays free.
Can I self-host it?
Not at the moment. It started as a self-hosted tool, and running it as a service turned out to be the only way to keep it maintained and improving rather than frozen at whatever version someone downloaded. If that changes, it will be announced here.
What happens if you disappear?
A fair question to ask any small tool. Your workspace exports to a single file at any time, and the Search Console data it is built on is always yours to re-download from Google. Nothing you do here is locked in.
Do I need a credit card?
No. There is nowhere to put one.
